Eskaton - Ardeur (`1980)

"Ardeur" meaning "Fervour" was "Eskatons" first proper album. Along with a couple of guest musicians the music carries on from there "4 visions" release. Deivative of "Magma" maybe but "Eskaton" puts there own twist on things. With shorter pieces on side one and longer ones on the other, which tie in nicely with the Post Atomique theme..

 Great zeuhl songs here with excellent dual female vocals which recalls in parts "Magma's" "Udu Wudu". Not quite up there with there other releases this is nevertheless a fine album for zeuhl fans from one of the best around.

Eskaton - Fiction (1983)

This is Eskatons third album and probably my favourite from possibly the best zeuhl styled french band around.

The dual female vocals seem better mixed and all tracks have a distinct character of there own and are more inventive as a whole than there previous albums. Less Magma flavored maybe but this album has much to reward the listener with.

Eskaton - 4 Visions ( 1979 )

With superb dual female vocals Eskaton were probaly the best Zeuhl styled band of them all.

4 Visions originallly released on Cassete is a classic. 4 tracks - 4 visions - a must for Magma fans but without the Kobaian language invented by Magma. Here the vocals are sung in French.

If your new to the Zeuhl style then 4 Visions is more easier to get into than most. It's a winningly enegetic music with many changes in tempo , and dare i say almost danceable compared to most others in this style. But never taking away the sheer inventiveness.

This is an extremely impressive listen indeed from Eskaton. Very highly recommended!
